Contents

Seminar Continuum Mechanics

The seminar addresses current topics in continuum mechanics. Presentations are based on recent research articles and ongoing research projects in the field of continuum mechanics.

Topics may include:

  • modeling of elastic and inelastic materials and structures
  • micromechanics
  • fracture mechanics
  • discretization techniques such as the finite element method and related approaches
  • implementation aspects of numerical methods

Participants study the selected topic in depth based on scientific literature and prepare a structured scientific presentation. The seminar includes discussion sessions in which the content of each presentation is critically examined.

Seminar Computational Mechanics

The seminar addresses current topics in computational mechanics. Presentations are based on recent research articles and ongoing research projects in the field of computational mechanics.

Topics may include:

  • modeling of elastic and inelastic materials and structures, incompressible fluids and fluid–structure interaction
  • computational biomechanics
  • discretization techniques such as the finite element method and related approaches
  • implementation aspects of numerical methods
